Kenton Thatcher is an Internationally acclaimed award winning advertising, lifestyle
photographer who is also renowned for his celebrity portraits.
Born in London England, and at the tender age of 14 became immersed in the world of
photography thanks to his father’s obsession with the camera and darkroom.
At 17 he started travelling the world and was fortunate enough to experience assisting some of the worlds most talented and celebrated photographers.
Kenton has now been based in Lisbon Portugal for the past 25 years, and in 2006 opened his first Photography Studio (STUDIO 3.11) in Lisbon’s trendy quarter of LX Factory, a group of old brick buildings that originally was a large industrial paper print factory, but now
cherishes, restaurants, cafés, and other creative minds which overlooks the beautiful river Tagus and the iconic 25th April Bridge.
Kenton’s images have been used in worldwide advertising campaigns, and he has a unique ability to inspire and energise his subjects, a factor that is ever-present in his work.
In 2017 became a Sony Ambassador which was a major game changer for him in the way that he started shooting more lifestyle.
He's actively involved in supporting various important high profile charitable organisations, such as the Save The Children Fund, FTBC (Fashion Targets Breast Cancer) and APAV (PortugueseAssociation for Victim Support) which is a non-profit organisation which supports victims of crime and domestic violence and recently Future Dreams (one of UK’s leading breast cancer charities).
Clients include L’Oréal, Siemens, Samsung, TAG/Heuer, Vodafone, Megafone, Wella, Mateus Rose, Nike, Sky+, Canon, Sony, Elle, Vanity Fair, EMI, Universal Music, HSBC, Totta Santander, Citibank, Western Union, European Parliament….
In June of 2022 Kenton was mentioned on The Queen Elizabeth II Birthday Honours list, and he was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his services to the Creative Arts and to charity, and received his MBE at Windsor Castle in 2023 by Anne, Princess Royal.
Kenton, will also have his first retrospective exhibition at the Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, Lisboa in March/April 2025 celebrating 3 decades of his portraits of celebrated artists, writers, sports personalities & politicians..
